I keep hearing people suggest that we should be praying for Barack Hussein Obama to succeed.
Depending on what they mean by that, I strongly disagree.
If we do not honestly believe that Obama's set of extreme leftist policies are absolutely what is best for America, we should instead be praying for AMERICA to succeed...
Even if it means success in spite of the chief executive and his designs. Even if that means opposing his agenda, and Obama not succeeding in changing America into what he & Michelle would be proud of. After all, should we not be loyal to America, rather than a personality and his extreme leftist ideology? It's always been God, Family, and Country for me. In that order. Politicians are nowhere in that list. Do we wish to maintain and support the Constitution? Do we want limited government, lower taxes, a strong national defense, prosperity, liberty, and justice for all?
Really, for everyone?
The road back to American growth and prosperity does not run through a Socialist Utopian pipe dream. The road to American success cannot even be seen through the fog of the global warming hoax. And it most certainly does not pass anywhere near confiscatory, oppressive, enslaving taxation.
A nation cannot tax its way out of a recession, much less a depression; higher taxes mean lower productivity, less work, less wealth created, economic decline.
A nation that wishes to recover, to resume economic growth, must instead stop spending like a drunken Kennedy, and lower taxes to give incentive to those with the means to do so to go ahead and invest in businesses again.
If a nation wishes to succeed, it cannot bail out failed policies, such as the leftist plan to get everyone into a home, whether they can afford it or not, and then using trillions upon trillions of our children & grand children's future tax dollars borrowed or printed, either way it amounts to trillions of taxpayer dollars--your dollars) to pay for the massive mistake.
The longer this goes on, the deeper the hole gets, the more painful the correction will be.
The following quotes were from today's Glenn Beck program. I strongly recommend listening to it. Here are some things that Glenn brought to light:
"America has pledged $7.76 Trillion since October. Adjusted for inflation, this is more than the entire New Deal, the entire Louisiana Purchase, the entire Marshall Plan, every single NASA mission ever, the S&L crisis, the Korean, Vietnam, and Iraq wars, plus WWII.
"Combined.
"That is what we have pledged to our financial community."
====
That figure will only grow with tax & spend leftist in control of our government.
Glenn also mentioned that Italy, Spain, and Greece have had their debt downgraded this week. Ireland is on the brink, and Iceland is already bankrupt. They are calling for a global currency. With Obama in office, who knows how this will turn out?
I can pray all I want that Obama will get it right, but based upon his campaign promises, his public words, and his inaugural speech; I find it difficult to have any faith at all in the man. It is clear that he is far to the left of any president we've ever had, even Jimmy Carter. God will not take away Barack Hussein Obama's free agency, even if that would be best for America.
Now that he is in office, challenging the direction he wishes to take us will be extremely difficult. We allowed him to be elected, by allowing a failure of a candidate, one without conservative conviction, which is what the Republican base requires to turn out in force, to win the Republican primary.
Now we will pay the price. On top of this, Obama's comments, and those of his wife, indicate that he will indeed attempt to take away the free agency of the American Taxpayer.
We are at a crossroads this year.
As Glenn said this morning, we can either follow the vision of our Founding Fathers, or we can follow the "progressive" politics of the early 20th century that led to the Great Depression, WWI, and WWII. If we choose Government as the answer for our problems, we're doomed to repeat the mistakes of the last century. But if we choose to instead let the people fix their problems, if we choose correctly this time, we can have the bright future that politicians are constantly promising us.
If we absolutely agree with Obama's policy goals, and more importantly how he intends to go about them, then just pray for Obama to succeed. But in my humble opinion, we should be focusing on America's success, not Obama's. We can, and should, support Obama WHEN HE IS RIGHT. But we should vehemently oppose him when he is wrong.
However, if Obama succeeds in doing what his words suggest, history tells us that we will be worse off. Obama's destructive policy goals outlined in his Inaugural address and his election campaign will amount to the enslaving of America's taxpayers if brought to pass.
His speeches sure sound inspiring, but they ignore the cost, and the source of the funds, they have no detail, no way to pay for them, and they really spin the fact that he's really talking about a new "New Deal," which as anybody who understands the history of the early 20th Century realizes, is what caused the Depression in the rest of the world to be the "Great Depression" (including the 2nd depression within the depression that unfolded during the fall of 1937) that lasted year after year, FDR Presidential Term after FDR Presidential Term, here in the United States, until the global war AKA World War II finally pulled us out of that economic tailspin.
To get elected, Barack Hussein Obama chose his words carefully, and said he would give us tax cuts, etc. He sounded like a Republican. And John McCain, who was bitter at conservatives for backing George W. Bush in 2000, turned from a conservative into a "moderate" (read: leftist) Republican, turning his back on conservative ideology and principles. Because of McCain's lukewarm support of conservative ideals in Washington, he had no real chance to win against Obama: the media only propped him up long enough to help him win the Republican primary, but once the real race was on, they dropped him like a bad habit.
Obama, after all, was the Main Stream Media (MSM) darling, and they weren't about to let objectivity get in the way of electing their man. So they helped him present himself as a "moderate" who talked on and on about bipartisanship, about tax cuts, about grand-sounding plans, but in the end, Obama will prove his conservative critics right: he will govern as a hard leftist, if his past actions are any guide. We're talking communist/fascist here, not just socialist. Obama is the scariest leftist since Jimmy Carter, who I barely remember, since I was a child when he was President. But I remember what he did to our country, and I remember how hopeful, not Obama hope, but real hope, hope we could truly believe in, Ronald Wilson Reagan made us all feel.
Obama has manufactured a fraudulent hope, hope for those who prefer not to work hard, hope for hard leftists who want America remade into something Michelle Obama can be proud of. Not hope for America, but hope for those who strongly dislike the America of 1980-2008. Hope for America's enemies. Hope for those who despise the America that the vast majority of us love.
The American taxpayer will end up funding everything; we the people of the United States, our children, and our children’s' children will pay the price. If they continue to print more cash, and if the Democrats continue with the ruinous deficit spending we are currently engaged in, eventually the dollar will drop like a rock; this trajectory is absolutely unsustainable.
What happened leading up to the Great Depression is being repeated, and we are seeing the same things happen as happened back during the early 20th Century. Read these books to learn details:

Obama's suggestion that it is the Government's job, funded by the American taxpayer, of course, and at an undisclosed cost, to make sure that those in his preferred demographic have work is simply wrong. Why not do what has proven to work in the past?
Unleash the free market system that created all of America's wealth in the first place, so that everyone has the opportunity for better jobs, and our standard of living continues to increase! What has failed this time around is NOT the free market, because the politicians were forcing the free market to do things it would not have done had they left it alone.
We should, indeed, support Obama WHEN HE IS RIGHT. I am convinced this will be infrequent, but I am willing to support the President of the United States when he is right, regardless of party. I am a patriotic American first.
But we must have the courage to stand up when he is wrong. We must not be afraid or timid in standing up for what is right. Whether it is the sanctity of life, the sanctity of marriage, freedom to choose where to send our children to school, freedom to choose how much, and to which organization we will give to, for our charitable contributions, instead of being forced to give it to the monstrously inefficient government, freedom to invest in businesses that work instead of "investing" in overpriced union labor and wasteful government bureaucracy that has failed every time it has been tried...we must be willing to stand up for what is right. Whatever the cost. The hopelessness that most in America felt, the national decline, the pain index, the feeling that America was past her prime, that permeated the nation at the end of Jimmy Carter's disastrous reign (with a pliant, Demcorat-controlled Legislative branch, just like BHO has today) is on its way back.
We can, however, slow the descent into hopelessness. We must oppose psychotic leftist policy and spending. We must oppose the extreme left, and stop our taxpayer dollars from funding ridiculously inefficient government programs which have ALWAYS proven to be wasteful, corrupt, and inefficient, a waste of taxpayer dollars, ever since the Revolutionary war.
It is not charitable to force the people to give their money to the government so the bureaucrats and politicians can spend the peoples' money. Government foreign aid expenditures are NOT charitable, since they are forced. Yes, they do SOME good, but at what cost, and how much of that is wasted? The government is ALWAYS the least efficient way to do just about everything. Only National Defense and interstate transportation infrastructure should be taken care of by the Federal government, if we wish to take our lead from the Founding Fathers and common-sense leaders from the past. One more thing: is the bloated government we have today even constitutional?
It is not the government's job to make sure you have a job. That's the peoples' responsibility. It's not the government's job to buy into exceedingly expensive hoaxes like the Global Warming hoax. The list of what the government shouldn't be in the business of doing is very, very long, and today, it pretty much describes our bloated, wasteful government.
If we believe the Constitution of the United States is inspired by God, then why would we abandon it in our hour of greatest need? That hour is coming, and it will probably arrive sooner than we all think. Only by relying on the Constitution and constitutional principles will our nation continue in prosperity in the medium and long term. Only by relying on time-tested principles, not to mention He who makes all that is good possible: God, the Eternal Father, will we get out of this mess we've gotten ourselves into.
I don't know about everyone else, but I plan to be living here in America in ten, twenty, thirty, forty, and fifty years from now. I feel very much invested in the future of this nation, so it sickens me that we are trying to cover up the massive problems that were created by the politicians in charge of the nation's purse strings. Freddie Mac & Fannie Mae? Created by leftist politicians. Protected from regulation by leftist politicians. The community reinvestment act of 1977 is what started this, and the time to pay the piper came in 2008.
Unfortunately, instead of dealing with the problem, we just kicked the can down the road with this ill-advised series of bailouts, and nobody has had to take responsibility for what they have created, maintained, or made worse. Even worse, the hundreds of Billions being wasted are growing by the day.
"The Community Reinvestment Act of 1977 (CRA) encourages federally insured banks and thrifts to meet the credit needs of the communities that they serve, including low- and moderate-income areas, consistent with safe and sound banking practices."
What that means is that loans made their way to those who couldn't afford to repay them, and the safe and sound banking practices turned out to be quite unsafe and unsound. That is why we are where we're at today, as far as the housing problems. And that was just the thousand-ton boulder that crushed the Camel's back. That Camel was about to fail anyway, but the effect of all of the horrible lending decisions, encouraged (to use a gentle term) by the government, was a crushing blow, and even now we're trying to do a quick fix. This problem has been brewing since the last time we had massive economic problems, in the late 1970's, during the Jimmy Carter administration, when Democrats held both Congress AND the Presidency. Sound familiar?
It took us over three decades to get us into this mess; printing and borrowing untold trillions of dollars won't get us out of it. Embracing a hyper-partisan, extreme leftist President's stated policy preferences won't help; they will only make things remarkably worse. What our failed government seems to be attempting will only destroy the value of our dollars, our retirement accounts, our land, and our economy.
Is the fact that I've been awake for about 24 hours clouding my thinking? Am I the only one who sees this?
